CTS Corp ( UK) based their 2006 Lean Management Thinking activities in the EMS Division. Over the 6 month period they achieved 91% reduction on test changeovers by applying SMED methodologies (£11k per annum). This extended into the Acterna Project where off-line set-up processes were improved to save £690k per annum. The division is now using Overall Equipment Effectiveness ( OEE) as a key production measure. The division also undertook a review of stationary costs and reduced these by £14k per annum. The Lean Team have now replaced paper-based systems with electronic procedures and are currently implementing new ISO (AS 9000) systems.
